Cant Start Mission??
 

Hi,

I've just got the mission to sail along the east coast of England during the invasion of Poland but after im given the brief i cant start the mission. The drop down on the left flashes for half a second and I cant continue??

I have appiled patch 1.1??

1. Talk to the guy and get a briefing.
2. Click on objective icon on the briefing map
3. It will prompt you to select mission, select it
4. Go back talk to the guy again and ask to start mission (I think it is the second choice in a dialog menu )

That works for me every time

Yep

The same thing is happening to me. I went out and finished all the missions anyway because i could start the patrol. When I came back the guy was like, so just tell me when you're ready to get started!

Dude I just sunk an aircraft carrier that was surround by 7 destroyers and made it back to Kiel with 8% hull integrity. Give me my medal.

He even told me I was given command of a new sub but I haven't even been able to officially select my mission.

You have to zoom out the map - there should be two icons next to British coast ( north east and south west )

yeah i can click on those all day but there is no button to select them. it just says what the missions involves.

Same problem here... I don´t get any mission / objective icon...

I suspect there is a corrupted save game. I rolled back my campaign to an earlier mission and played from there.

At one point (from June 1940) you will see this arcade-looking message "campaign completed - 20 u-points awarded". When you finish your patrol you will be taken to a new screen where you must select the new campaign phase (Happy Times). This will activate the new mission objectives that you can select on the map.

Click on the little orange down arrow in the upper left grey box. That drops down a selection of patrol types. Select one and then you get the map icons for specific missions. I was just stuck in the same spot.

you have to save exit the game, and reload it.. if that doesnt work try starting a new career should fix the problem.. if those dont fix teh problem go to your save games folder in documents/sh5/data/cfg/savegames/00000000/Campaign-2010-03-blahblah/campaign

and change the bold here from false to true

you can manually select which mission is completed by going to the below area i specified and changing where it says completed from false to true that might solve your problem temporarily until they patch it
