UBI DRM servers down, link to story
http://www.afterdawn.com/news/archiv...paign=20100311
Interesting that SH5 was cracked the first day and pirates were playing the game while paying customers could not play because of server problems. Thanks UBI for being idiots that penalize honest customers in your ridiculous assumption of carpet bombing tactics to eradicate piracy all while the real pirates are in bomb prove bunkers. As Bugs Bunny would say. What an Ultramoron Well, at least those of us that are happy to pay can now buy the game and play without being online I have never had a pirated game on my PC and firmly believe we all benefit by supporting the developers even when they are idiots as in this case as it does not give us the right to be thieves. It does mean I can wait to buy the game until I can avoid DRM stupidity. Imagine the brain power required to figure out this DRM was a good idea. If we could harness that energy we could light a single light bulb, dimly!! Wulfmann |
Search function is an awesome thing. :yep:

Might aswell clear the misconception in the article (and many others). SH5 wasn't cracked on day 1, it was cracked, but as Ubi said it wasn't complete. However Assassin's Creed II was cracked almost immediately, even when Ubi said it wasn't a complete game, but the crack was the save game thingy that is now available for SH5 aswell. So... nice DRM. :O: |
We can play the game without being online now? :o
Please say yes! |
Not officially.

Here lies the dilemma.
I can not play online if I wanted to. I am on dial up and my game PC is not connected to the internet at all. I will gladly buy SH5 but not until I can play off line. So, here is the funny part. The longer it takes me to get the No-CD the better the chance the game will be lower in price and UBI will make less money. UBI will benefit more if I quickly work around their blatantly stupid idea DRM is anything but a display of morbid mental dysfunction. Perhaps the next decision of such magnitude should be discussed at UBI headquarters by a new board of directors with better reasoning skills A series of various rocks will certainly outsmart the last bunch that somehow though DRM was anything but moronic. I am not asking anyone to tell me where to get a No-CD if it violates any policy here nor would I suggest you PM me a link to a No-CD if that violates any SUBSIM policy Wulfmann |

Same for me as well. :D |
The save game thing bypasses the DRM, which is, AFAIK, illegal without the permission from the publisher, atleast in the States, where this forum is hosted.
So, better stop requesting it. |
