The Mystery of the Salvo Shot

Is there some way to narrow or widen the spread of the salvo shot other than firing each torpedo on its own?

I hate the current "Salvo SHot" as my torps always straddle the target.

The Torpedo "Spread Angle" of SH3 is sorely needed again, IMHO!
