[REL] Capthelms Underwater Night Filter Adjustment Mod

ok improved the water effects under water to a more realistic atlantic
greenish tinge , also reduce visual range under water. simulates salt content in water.

also improved nighttime lighting , imo it was way to dark.

this brightness mod simulates better moonlit nights.

again these are adjustments that i like and look good all round in the sim day or night.

you can leave them or adjust to suit your own taste guys.

in general ,..the atlantic is no where near like the clear waters in the pacific .

making it to bright green in color during the day effects night time and looks crap. so i had to blend this one file to a all round visual pleasure, during any =time of day... .
also like in real life depending on seasons and locations, yes the atlantic is different in color . this file controls only one color tone all year round in all areas, have to make do with one color tone i think for now.
to be honest i have not checked pacific areas yet.
seen as the game is based on the altantic war, may as well keep it realistic in color and view distance.

Gave it a try. I like the green water but the visibilaty limitation is just way over the top if you ask me.

Looks good, will try this out, like the green colour, kind of Das Boot feel.

Thanks so much, give it a go when I get home. :)

I like the reduced visibility under water, but when checking for myself, it doesn't look like the preview picture.

At sunset (18:00 o'clock) , the underwater seem to light up. A little darker would be more realistic imo.

At sunset, the visibility of the water is perhaps too poor, or not being that interesting when using default camera config files. By default the camera is not allowed to come too close to the uboat model, and the uboat is but a subtle shadow even when going as close as possible with the default camera behaviour.

How do i adjust this mod to my likings?

oscar19681 03-15-10 04:48 PM

???

Maybe try through your Options screen and Gamma setting?
I am assuming that setting still works with this mod, not 100% sure but seems reasonable.
