Actually, the Mayan calendar says nothing about the end of the world. This myth has become hugely popular amongst people for some reason. Who started it, I don't know. But I'd like to kill them with a baseball bat if I had the chance.

Anyway, the Mayans simply stated, and I quote, that there would be a "great change" in the world. That's all. Nothing about it ending, nothing about aliens or any of that bullsh**, just a "great change". What the change was they were referring to we can speculate on. I doubt it anything more than just mere mythological prophecy amongst their culture.

they sure spent alot of your tax dollars to track this thing even put a teliscope at the southpole I wonder how much that cost . No thats just an evil government coverup, they give out the spiel about long nights and good atmospheric conditions but the reality is that they placed this secret telescopes down on the south pole to keep it secret or the population of the planet will go mad with panic at the impending doom. and once the population starts panicing the politicians who set up the secret project will start worrying about their chances of re-election after the world ends.
