Workaround when your game hangs in menu during synchronisation

For those that hang at the menu during synchronization, turn of synchronization in the login screen first (click button outlined in red when the countdown starts), then quit the launcher/game.

Then goto:

64-bit:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher
32-bit:
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher

and verify in settings.ini if this is set:

SaveOnline=false

It should be false if you chose to disable in above screenshot, this is just an extra check.

Last, delete the storage folder (this is a cache folder). This folder apparently contains faulty data.

Note: even if you turned off the sync save game feature, the game apparently (and incorrectly) still tries to sync the games (although it does not upload any new ones anymore). If you do not delete the storage folder, the launcher will STILL try download your last uploaded save games (even though the SaveOnline=false) from Ubi's server. I suspect this is why it hangs (if you have later save games locally, they are not in sync). By deleting it, it will no longer do so.

I ended up with my last working local-save fortunately...

If you followed my steps you should see it. It is in the Ubisoft Game Launcher folder.

When people first found this 'disable offline saves' it was discovered that when you turn it back ON for whatever reason it tends to overwrite your local saves. So.. be wary of that maybe happening once their server problems are temporarily fixed.
