abso-bloody-lutely! fly anything from the KM ensign to a jolly roger. hell, why not an RN ensign and play as HMS Graph? the animated example in the exhaust thread looked great, just imagine it from the pole on the wintergarden of your boat.

i'd like to see the on/off command with the XO. [you know your boat aint complete without it].

I'm with you. I love seeing a flag flying under my command. Ok I know my next mod to work on. I mod in small steps so first will be adding flags to the subs. Then after that is done I'll look for ways to control them better (they'll be setup like SH3 where they won't display underwater but will always be visible above water).

I think the poll would be good on the subject.
IMHO there is no any reason to enable flag on the deck, except unrealistic eye-candy.

I would prefer a searchlight :D

no poll needed. If I want it and 1 other wants it then it's time to make it :D I've already made a jackstaff to add to the subs :03:

here's the jackstaff I made (even with rust on it!) for the subs:

Nice work DarkWraith

I have always wanted to see a flag on the Subs. Historically, how often were these flown? Just in and out of Port?

this probably isn't historically correct in most respects but it's something I want and some others want. One should customize their game to their liking :DL You won't be able to control when the flag is visible or not - it will always be visible but will 'disappear' as you submerge.

That's zero problem for me. On the model, there's already an empty flagstaff at the back of the WinterGarden though, right?

most of the subs no. That's why I had to make a jackstaff. Now I have to add this jackstaff to the subs that are missing it. The 2A has a jackstaff. Is it a jackstaff or flagstaff? I should be calling it by it's correct name.

Now reflections for the flag are going to be a bit tricky. I tried making them reflect and got some awful side effects on the screen. I don't know if this is going to be possible or not.....

Maybe Jackstaff was British terminology because of the Union Jack?? I get seasick in the bath and know nothing of Navy life :DL.

DarkWraith you do fantastic work and thanks for doing this . I personally could live with the fact that there's no reflection but understand if you wanna do the best you can before releasing yet another teriffic Mod.

Technically it's a flag staff. The jack staff is for a second flag, or jack, and is mounted at the bow.
[quote]10. (Naut.)
(a) A flag, containing only the union, without the fly,
usually hoisted on a jack staff at the bowsprit cap;
-- called also union jack. The American jack is a
small blue flag, with a star for each State.
