The board is soooo slooow lately.

Hi Neal, despite closing the SH5 forum for no members, it is nearly impossible
to go through all the messages.

The response is very, very slow.
Are you sure that that extra memory is still inside the server (or did you need it for playing SH5)? :smug:

Onkel Neal 03-06-10 01:19 PM

Yeah, it's slow. We have about 2o times the usual traffic. I am scheduling an additional server to load balance.

20 times more traffic
That explains a lot.
Now I'm feeling stupid to post this msg.
Sorry Neal, no pun intended.
I was just giving a 'signal'.

*sneaks back into his hut*

Onkel Neal 03-06-10 03:48 PM

No problem, I need to know :)

CCIP 03-06-10 05:45 PM

Yep, no wonder... it's SH5 release season (or SH5 flaming season?) and it seems like a lot of people's attention is on the site now.

It's almost unusuable for me much of the time right now :( I hope there's some relief to this soon.

CCIP 03-06-10 07:35 PM

Things got a lot better since about an hour ago. Did you hook up a new server Neal, or is it just a fluke?

RickC Sniper 03-06-10 07:38 PM

I noticed a speed bump too, just recently

Oberon 03-06-10 07:48 PM

Looking good so far Neal. I think you should consider suing Ubisoft for damages to the forum servers, eh? ;) Of course, you'd have to fight your way to the front of the pitch-fork baring, torch waving crowd.... :hmmm:

Onkel Neal 03-06-10 10:47 PM

Lol, yeah.

I think the speed picks up in the periods when Europe or American is asleep.

I expect to start work on the new server Monday. Thanks for your patience.

Neal

17:30 here in the UK and the speed has just resumed a normal/ish level http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...s/thumbsup.gif

Was beginning to wonder if you'd converted the forum to DRM http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/4...kbigid2zj6.gif

Don't be silly Neal would ne-

Cannot connect to forum.

Open the Subsim forum.

I'm sorry Dave, but I can't do that...

Reece 03-07-10 06:56 PM

Yes still have the problem on and off this morning!!

frau kaleun 03-07-10 07:01 PM

It's been a little slow off and on, but I'm not getting the "could not connect" or "link broken" errors I was earlier today.

Sailor Steve 03-07-10 07:20 PM

I've been having fun. I can see it literally slowing down and speeding up again. For several minutes it takes so long to load it times out and gives me the standard "Unable To Connect" screen. Then a few minutes later it's back to normal.

High entertainment.:sunny:
