Medals...
 

I just realized I have been awarded the Iron Cross 2nd class. Found out about it when I clicked through the "personal" pages while on patrol.

Now, I didn't expect a full-blown animated scene with the band playing, my crew cheering, followed by a glorious orgy in the Harbour bar. But...nothing? Not even a simple pop-up that tells me I just got a medal?

Not even in your patrol record? SH3 did that. AOD gave you a newspaper clipping.

Nothing?

There isn't even really a patrol record. You only get that when you quit the game. Otherwise you just keep going.

I've apparently gotten two medals, and didn't even realize it.

Sheesh. This game is starting to become a parody of itself. Now this medals thing.

And the hits just keep a'comin'....

*sigh*

Nada. I mean, you see the medals on that page, but you get absolutely zero indication when you actually get one.

And yeah, I was thinking of AoD's newspaper clips, too.

Yeah the games lack of info on whats going on is kinda lame. I mean not knowing that your base has been moved, not knowing what medals you got. Not really understanding what he means when he tells you... What you want to go on partol without selecting a mission. Are you sure you want to just go out on your own....

When you have no missions to choose from. LOL.

Yeah I miss the AoD port arrival scene.

It's odd the little pieces of a game that really mean something when you're presented with a title that excludes them.

Just like the random commentary between missions in Aces of the Pacific or Aces Over Europe.

I managed to complete my first patrol today (without a crash). Was fun granted, but all there was to in port was reload torps assign five more upgrade points and right back at it.

Felt a little dull.

Perhaps its like the medals CIA gives out to operatives and such, very secretive and you cant brag about them.

Only they took it one step further, no-one is aware of them.

Naw, its only a bug. Or something that didn't have the time to be implemented.

medals and promotions is what you heading for...and you even cant recognize them?...this is truly a shame. and another fail...

I thought the guy in the sub pen would hand you a box and congatulate you, guess that was another high hope.
