Damage bar at ships?

There is a damage bar at each ship. a light brown and blue line. what shows the blue and brown line?

I turned mine off, but I am guessing that one is the ships hitpoints and the other is flooding.

Ive yet to sink a ship without removing the whole brown line first, which i assume is hull integrity. Ive shelled below the waterline a billion times...still the armor will blow out well before the flooding line goes out....seems strange.

how? i turn it off in options. but when i play i see it via binoculars O_o
