Workaround for Audigy2 ZX Soundcards
 

hi all,

after some testing, my problems regarding freezing together with abnormal sounds and lockups after a while playing SH5 release or patch 1.01 and SB Audigy2 ZX, i can say its running stable now.

this is only tested with XP SP3 32bit...

...run dxdiag and set your audigy hardware acceleration to MINIMUM acceleration.

...but remember you will lose all EAX effects in other games...

I had the same problem and the same sound card. Game would run fine, but it would inevitably lock up with horrid sounds out of the speakers after 10-30 minutes of play.

I fixed it by switching to my mobo's onboard sound.
