Silent Hunter packaging

Hello, i just purchased SH5 from Gamestop. Is there a guide and map that is suppose to come with the basic version. Asking because you know how Gamestop opens ALL games and keep them behind the desk. Only thing in the dvd case was the game and a documentary. Thanks.

piri_reis 03-02-10 08:49 PM

Nope that's all you get for Regular Edition, cheap bastards...

You just get a two pieces of paper. and game disks. manual is on disk (pdf format).

Yep. Very very cheap. No maps, no manuals, no nothing.

Factor 03-02-10 08:59 PM

well, that sucks.

Now we are complaining about UBI preserving resources, and not wasting paper. Are you all never satisfied?

:har: Give me a break man. Preserving resources but charging me more than SH3/SH4, I guess they're planting a few trees with that extra money.

The money they save on not printing manual etc. goes to keeping OSP online.

Take your SHIII map, stick an SHV logo over top of the old one and you have the map that comes in the special editions. Seriously, it is the same map with a new logo, that's it.

Why bother with the photocopy, from what I've heard just grab the one from SH3.

VirtualVikingX 03-03-10 03:33 AM

My regular copy came with a printed manual (same as pdf) and a quickstart-guide. Bought in Norway.

No it's not. It's quite similar but there are differences in convoi routes and so on. SH5 map is also much bigger than the map in SH3.

UK Standard edition comes with a printed manual. (doesn't tell you much but it does come with one).
