Can someone confirm SH5 will work on Win7?

Can someone please confirm SH5 will run on Win7?As I am about to install Win7 but if it doesn't I'll keep Vista!Cheers:salute:

Yes, it's supposed to work with Win 7. :)

It'd be a ludicrous faceplant if it didn't. Even SH3 works on Win7.

Fincuan 02-23-10 05:01 PM

Do bicycles work on gravel? Of course it'll work.

longam 02-23-10 05:09 PM

It will work just fine, and yes please install Vista SP3, you'll love it. :smug:

From the publisher's view, it would be insane not to make it Win7 compatible. ;)

Almost all games that worked on Win XP work on Win7. No reason to worry. Even better, there are high chances that it will work best at Win7.

Why not look on the SHV site and see for yourself?

I think of greater concern going forward will be publishers dropping support for XP.

They wouldn't do that as it would alienate (lost sales) alot of people still using XP. same as they would make single player games online only...... doh ! :damn:

I would hazard a geuss that Xp & DX 9 support for games will stick around for about another year before its phased out.
When the hardware guys like (Nvidia and ATI) cut off XP support for new products, games developers will be forced to follow suit for sure.
Also recommended Ram requirements are already starting to hit the 4GB limit imposed by 32-bit Operating systems.

XP

I think that XP vs. Win 7 ( well soon Win 8 is there) will phase longer than Win 98 vs XP did, because XP became so big among Home Editions as Pro's.

Not a game I'm interested in, but this is what prompted my comment:

Im not so sure, when games & software start coming with 4GB RAM as recomended requirements the 32-bit OS is done.. maybe in less than two years? SHV is 2GB recommended so we can go figure...

Basically any 32 bit OS can handle 4GB memory max INCLUDING graphics.
So if you had a 2GB graphics card, the OS will detect no more than 2GB of your System RAM.
Because of this limitation, along with DirectX9 becomeing increasingly long in the tooth, I think we could see XP get ditched sooner.

Not sure what will happen to 32bit Vista and Win7 users as they are effected by the 4GB limit too.
