dose title take effection in crew mangement?
shooters,
I arrange a junoir sailor ouside as a watch officer ,and he didsn't report a coming enemy sub until 1 km between us. So,is it useful if I put a titled Watch officer instead? DOSES tiltle really useful in crew mangement? Thank you,Guys! waiting...:hmmm: |
I guess that petty-officers do have more experience-points than plain seamen. this can be controlled in SHCommander, which I strongly suggest you to install additionally.
makes SH3 even better! edit: watch officer is important! without him you won't even get wheather reports. |
Hi,
Not sure I understand 100%, but you do need the watch officer on deck for him to call out contacts ("Shiff gesichted"). No watch officer = no shiff gesichted. Cheers, Benny |
Absolutely important that you have a qualified WO keeping an eye out for any kind of ships. If you get surprised by a warship, without that WO on task, it's gonna be a miracle to dive by choice rather than being punched full of holes and sent to the bottom. ;)
Cheers, and welcome aboard SUBSIM kevinlv. :salute: EDIT: BTW, I was surprised by a destroyer once even with the WO up top. Luckily it was far enough away we could dive and evade before their guns could zero in on us. |
Best practice is to have a suitably qualified WO in each section whenever possible.

this is something i've often wondered about.
SH3 uses a kind of green bar system to show how effective the staffing of any compartment is, so with 2 watch qualified petty officers, and a WO the bar is full, but will less eyes up top mean less contacts? would it be better to have 4 sailors and a WO? |
