Loading problem [SOLVED]
 

Hi!
I have a strange problem. When I select my nickname in SH3 menu and click "accept" to load a game I receive an error and the game crashes to desktop.
The problem has started after i clicked "save" button while sailing to Penang (from Lorient...).
Any ideas?

What mods did you use?

If its a save game, it could be a broken save.
But which is it? A mid-patrolsave or a before patrol auto-save?

When I wanted to save a game (a mid-patrolsave) i clicked ESC and then save button and the game crashed with error [1] to desktop. I didn't save the game as the game crashed before I could enter the name.
Then, I tried to open my last save [2] and the error appears [3].
Can't even see my gamesaves.
It might be a problem with SH3 gamesave folder I think.

you were sure not to save in vicinity of:
sunken ships
coast
convoy
or any other action?

these will hurt your save-games even corrupt them as I learned to know is a stock-game-bug.

Sounds like you have a corrupted installation.

Everything was fine for over 20 patrols...
I'll reinstall SH3 and see If it's gonna work.

EDIT:
I reinstalled the game and... nothing changed.
What's intresting, after deleting last gamesave (which probably caused this problem) everything is OK again. Looks like last save was realy badly corrusted as it crashed the game.

Sadly this can be common on some peoples installations and I doubt it will never be known why :nope:

Now I now why this happened. I simply saved the game in the same patrol for many times, reaching 1000 files in C:\Documents and Settings\WiP\Moje dokumenty\SH3\data\cfg\Careers\Carrer\30. 1000 files in one patrol folder is too much and each time games tries to read them, it crashes.

Not 1000 times, "only" 100, as 1 gamesave covers 10 files :).

Ah, I thought you meant 1000 gamesaves :DL
