New Q&A + 5 out of 7 unique skins

17.02.2010

Will it be possible to improve the diving methods for example in previous versions of the game one could hardly change depth at low speed while with use of the ballasts one actually shall be able accelerate the depth change without increasing the propeller power.

The “diving officer” logic in the game actually uses more ballast or compressed air when depth changes cannot be achieved easily by dive planes – like for example when there’s not enough forward speed. However, direct control to the ballast tanks is not given to the player in the release version of SH5.

Are the 7 extra skins that come with the collector edition only available in the Campaign or also on Multiplayer?

The customized ships are only available in the Campaign and they are non playable. They act as elite AI units in the dynamic campaign (including the U-boats).

By the way, find below a sneak preview of five of the seven exclusive skins (3 submarines & 4 ships) coming with the collector:

Sounds perfect to me. Thanks for posting Thor. BTW where did you get this from?

Now we see the skins stuff from the collectors edition... not even playable, such useless stuff... probably the only thing worthy in that tin box will be the maps. Other than thar... :nope:

This is how it was in every SH. You could slowly change your depth when stationary, the almight "diving officer" logic at work I guess.

It'll be a new thing when you can order, "keep forward ballast tanks half full, so we can dive much quicker in case of air attack", or balance the boat with aft ballast tanks, we're flooding fast in the forward compartments!..

Look on the bright side, at least they're not marketing a collectors edition with:
EXCLUSIVE CONTENT!!!!
+5 Torpedoze of Almighty Explodiness!!!
Ancient Mariner's Cap of TrueSight!!!
Doenitz's Favorite Soup Recipe!!!

Oh, I see. Now the original question makes more sense to me.

Do you mean that we should feel satisfied in knowing that Ubi's only going to bring a game manual and a so-called "official guide" (that we all should get :hmm2:), the game's soundtrack (that anyone's actually able to extract from the game files if needed), a few skins - that will soon be available for free (even though that will be in an illegal way :hmmm:) - and iron box to those of us who're gonna spend 20 € more buying the collectors edition of the game ? :o

Yeah but you get an iron box. Mine will be plastic. Come on, it is all worth it! I think.....iron box....well....no so much....I guess.... But yeah, you get an iron box. Personally I think the skins for the special edition is not warranted. Extra actual material like pictures or better map, etc. is.

I read this a couple of weeks ago. It's a good/interesting article about special editions, and seems sort of relevant to the discussion.

Being a modeler myself, I would have modeled the wells for the anchors on that Nelson BB ship, abit more rounder. :hmmm:
