They were re-playng the game on the nhl network. They were flashing tonight's olympic scores, so I thought the game was live:oops:

Looks like the NHL stars couldn't do any better.:har::shucks:

Highbury 02-22-10 04:07 AM

Why would you say that? lol.. and NHL goalie won that game! Shots were 45 - 23 in Canada's favor.

I think Brodeur has played like crap in the last two games for Canada, but that is not the reason they lost tonight. With all of those shots Canada should have won if the US had played a mere mortal in net! Miller was simply outstanding.
:salute:

Games like that make it the best sport in the world!

And for the bitter reply.. first win against Canada in the Olympics in 50 years... I suppose you can win 2 per century :O::har:

It's quite because the men's hockey team played like bums so the country is off partying with the men's and women's curling teams.

Hahaha, I sort of snorted when I saw the thread title.

I live in a really settled-down kind of town, in a quiet area of it at that. I rarely hear anything here at all. But now I think there's still people screaming outside my window every once in a while.

Either it's the zombie invasion or we won the olympics. Oh wait :88)

I have to share this little comment that came out of my 75yr old father before the game today... it was meant in jest when it was said, as it is when posted here. :D

My wife is an American and my Dad, like me, is Canadian. They were exchanging some barbs about the first meeting between Canada and USA during these games when the old man says "I would rather be from a place where it is sacrilege to lose then one where it is a 'Miracle' to win!" :har:

We have a more reserved method of partying down. We drink and fall asleep.

Besides that, we're trying to decode the mysterious alphabetic assemblages of "colour", "humour", "armour", "civilised"; and we are also trying to figure out why you kick your football around instead of just carrying the damn thing. :hmmm:

:D

EDIT:

Is anything I mentioned in the second paragraph relevant to Canada, or did I just commit a faux pas? :06:

Brodeur didn't play - Luongo did.

In any case, congrats Canucks. That game and the tourney was one for the ages.
