Removing shoulder boards on crew
 

Hi all,

I have the Das Boot Clothes and GWX No Medals On Crew mods enabled, but I can't find anything to get rid of the shoulder boards when the men aren't actually in uniform.

It looks awfully funny to see them showing up on a flannel shirt or a sweater vest, lol. Is there a file I can edit to get rid of them when they're not in uniform, or another mod or combo of mods I can use to take care of it?

Get Dertien's No Rank on Crew. Enable it after Das Boat Clothes.

Looks like it takes care of any medals as well, so I guess enabling the GWX No Medals mod is unnecessary?

Just d/l Dertien's No Rank on Crew mod from Subsim d/ls. "Rank_Deco_ND.tga" looks exactly the same as the file in "GWX - No medals on crew". So, how does it make a difference?

I can't seem to find the das boot clothes, or the no rank mods, here or elsewhere. The rapidshare.de link in the original das boot clothes post is broken.

If someone has recent links please post 'em up here!

there may be a problem with the forum though. if you try to connect through a google search to a download, it says downloads off line, but if you trawl them manuall there all there...

The Search function here usually works for me, where it says "Search" underneath the "Make A Donation" button up near the top right. There's an option to search Downloads. If I know the name of a mod, usually searching that way pulls it right up.

I was using google to search. When clicking on the download link in google it was giving me the downloads offline error.

but i will bear in mind the search feature here!

Dertien's mod is actually titled 'No Rank Or Insignia On Crew', if I remember correctly. It should remove all traces of anything military, which I don't think the GWX one does.

yeah the dertien mod removes the shoulder boards too, so there is no visible sign on anyone, apart from caps...

I must have the wrong file then. The one I d/l from here is titled "Dertien No Rank On Crew.zip". Just tried to search again, but SS d/l is down.

The one I d/led from here a couple days ago definitely takes the shoulderboards off when combined with Das Boot Clothes. Maybe there's more than one in DL section?
