Silent Hunter 4 Infinite Ammo Question
I would like to know if there is a way to get infinite ammo for all the subs in the game with a mod or a cheat because I downloaded and installed the cheat mod and it increased it but I also manually changed the ammo within each save file I have for my saved games and that did not work for. I can change the renoun money fine without using cheats for this. Please reply back to me and let me know about this subject and also if there is one for damage as well so that the sub can be alive more than sink often when hit. Also I would like to know what is the best mod for me to download for this game that has a lot of stuff in it as well. Thanks a lot.

Not to upset you, but where is the fun in infinite ammo and torps?
Take your time to learn the SIM and have patience, you will find it more enjoyable :D Sneaking up on your targets to try and sink them, matching wits with escorts that want to sink you while you try to escape. The thrill of a successful attack and getting back to base to resupply, hand out some medals and promotions and patch up your boat :yep: |
Go to playable ships or do a search the things you want. If you want arcade play a few have made subs with 4 deck guns, nuc torps, improved hulls. Someone even has one that is basically a sub that looks like a BB.
My 12 year old enjoyed it. If that's your style go for it, but I prefer to play as intended. |
i have a few mods that increase torpedo and deck gun power and ammo so have a look at those.
they wont give you anything like a "GOD" mode but will give you more firepower |

from sid silent hunter -go to game copy world download trainer prob fixed with ammo |
Having infinite torpedoes lets you train more easily.
You can set all manual targetting and go train at sea as long as you wish. It can be useful. But for playing itself, I would advise against it. Not having infinite ammo requires better play from you Which is interesting |
The pain the butt is getting objective after objective though and you've run out of supplies at sea. There's no option to rendezvous at sea with a tender to reload and in most cases the closest port to reload at is very very very far away. I'm on one right now where I got a mission critical task to do and only 4 fish left. Let alone my trying to catch up with the target without the escorts taking me out :)

Just so you know lothos, you don't have to keep calling home to get more objectives. Once you complete the initial one you're free to do what you want.:)

I know I know...its a pain in the butt sometimes though.
Anyway, I can't seem to get my save file edited to restock my deck gun ammo. I wanna finish this last objective that's really really cool. And I am south of Diego Garcia atm chasing it down before it reaches Port Elizabeth. No luck so far :( |

as a complete, well 90K tonn 0% realism newcommer, a unlimited ammo option would be useful to me so i can practice with manual targeting - it would be a good setting on a standalone mission or a training mission so i could get more than one target.
|
But doesn't anyone know how to edit the save game to reload ammo?
|
This reminds me of a friend that had the nintendo genie (back in the day) on Silent Service 1. He could not aim a torpedo so he fired them all over the place. That kind of defeats the purpose of the game. In my opinion.

One can edit the hit point of a torpedo that's more than a ship can take even a BB tou can also edit how much ammo your sub can carry deck gun,AA guns etc, But it gets boring after a while.

Editing ammo amount
Could you please tell me what file you are referring to, to alter the deck gun ammo loadout?
I am a fan of the deck gun to finish off a merchant and save torpedo's. If I find an unarmed merchant I use the deck gun exclusively I know I can resupply but the german campaign is so short and diverting to resupply wastes valuable campaign time. |
