Can the Repulse or Hood outrun the Yamato or Musashi?
Ok
Since Hood was known as the biggest BC (Battlecruiser) and the Repulse a fast battlecruiser, could the both outrun the Yamato and Musashi? |

Both these ships were at the bottom of the sea before Yamato was commissioned, so it's rather moot (Repulse's sister-ship Renown was still active though).

What my question was could Hood and Repulse which were WW1 era warship outrun a modern Yamato and Musashi
|
I'm certain that your question was understood and answered. But here it is again.
HMS Hood Speed: 29kts Fate: Sunk in combat with Bismarck during the Battle of the Denmark Strait on 24 May 1941 HMS Repulse Speed: 31.7kts Fate: Sunk by Japanese air attack off Malaya on 10 December 1941 Yamato Speed: 27kts Commissioned: 16 December 1941 So yes, the Hood and Repulse "could" outrun the Yamato. But, as mentioned before, it's a moot point as both ships were sunk before Yamato was commissioned. |
IIRC, aging machinery and increasingly fouled bottoms slowed the speeds of both the Hood and the Drydock Twins.

Well. lol, I dont care how fast they are, Nither could outrun yamatos 18 inch guns, lol, Dont think they would last too long.

HMS Refit and HMS Repair?
Yeaah...how fast can a dry-dock go? :hmmm: |

Granted a battleship is a bigger target, but if spotting took place at that range the faster battlecruisers would have a very good chance of escaping. |
