Decision with potential international ramifications
 

A decision last week in an Australian court may see more individuals being persued by copyright owners: http://www.smh.com.au/technology/tec...ml?autostart=1

I have been to a number of Grateful Dead, Phish, Jerry Garcia Band, and Allman Brothers Band shows. Lots and lots of people take drugs at these events, and only a tiny fraction get busted. I think the same dynamic is in play w/copyright.

The question for the copyright owners of course is whether it is worth persuing the few knowing the majority will escape?

This stupidity is becoming more prevalent in the UK too.

Pretty soon the motorist won't be the easiest 'pinch'.

It must be expecting too much to ask that the more serious criminal element be pursued.
