I'm done being taxed to death
 

I worked my ass off for years so I could retire early. After that I got bored and started small business and keep a few people employed. I don't get super rich, but I do still make money and a nice profit. Now the government is going to take that from me, again.

Whatever happened to the small business being the backbone of America? I've been specifically targeted by new taxes, fees, insurance rate increases, etc. Was looking forward to some of the "special attention" that was going to be paid to small business. I didn't know that meant they were targeting my wallet.

Stupid little things like having to pay higher unemployment premiums to make payments to people I didn't lay off. The funny thing is the day I got notified of the increase was the same day I was talking to my [unemployed] neighbor. I asked if he found a job yet. He said "I haven't looked, I still have plenty of unemployment left to collect". I had to restrain myself from walking over and kicking his ass. Then, realizing he's not even a man, not even man enough to get off his ass and work, he's not worth it. (Never spoke to him again, never will). This is the new American attitude. The land of entitlements.

I'm leaving the US. Seriously, I've had enough, I'm done. I've thought about it before, now I'm going to do it. (I'm really not kidding or just mad, I'm leaving). I'm doing serious research into where in the world I'm going to move. I just know it isn't going to be here [in the US] any more. I'm sure there are countries out there who would want a hard working small business owner who pays all of his taxes and keeps people gainfully employed.

I like Denmark, having travelled there for the Subsim Meet 2009. Shortly after coming back, there was a special on Denmark, Copenhagen specifically, on the Oprah show about them being the happiest people on the planet.

Plus, a lot of good lookin women there :yep:

The guy "on disability" get's a reserved parking spot by the front door, while the guy being taxed to support him may not even find a vacant spot.

Their other rule is that descrimination is OK, as long as it's practiced against the majority, or the strongest.

Smaller land where the people have more control of the government.
But if the EU has it's way, that too will be gone to an overpowerful central government, just like in USA. (The United States of Europe - No thanks.)

What they dont realize... as you have stated.. these high taxation rates will not result in greater revenues it will merly drive business away or out of buisness... wheres your revenue then?

Anyone thinking about immigrating - all I can say is: avoid the EU at all cost, all states of it.

If I were 20 again, and would plan a life again and would have the ressources to support the move, I would leave the EU not only when wishing to found a family, but would leave anyway. Not sure where to go, US and Canada do not seem to be the option I once considered them to be after schooltime. Japan is a harsh place, and it's economical model is collapsing even faster than that of the US. Leaves me with Brazil, maybe (if I had money, at no cost I would need to live there when being poor), or SE Asia.

Anywhere - just away from the united dumbheadedness of Eurabia.

Maybe there is no place to live happily ever after.

There was this bloke back in the 1930s who had an idea you seem to approve of, he knew that a strong nation needed to cleanse itself of the weakest.

But he might want to renounce it if he wants any benefit from the move, after all America does have pretty good tax rates compared to many countries.
So in all probability if he doesn't dump the citizenship he will not only pay the high local taxes he will also still get stung for US taxes.

Good idea, they havn't been forced into a taxdeal with the US yet like so many of the traditional havens have.
Can you remind me again just how much of a multi-millionaire you need to be to avail of tax avoidance facilities in Monaco.

This is not new, this has been a major factor since FDR. You have to give up more and more of your income to support others.

No its not new however it has escelated to new heights and there is no end in sight.
