Lifeboats Mod

Still having no luck with the lifeboat mod. I feel like I installed it correctly, but not being very computer savvy I may have made a mistake. Here is my current mod list. Please let me know if you see any errors or compatibility issues. All the other mods seem to be working great, not sure why this one won't kick in.

GWX - Captain America's Officer Icons
GWX - Integrated Orders
GWX - Late War Sensors Snorkel Antennas
GWX - Lite Harbor Traffic
GWX - Main movie - 'Das Boot'
GWX - No Medals on Crew
Rbs1_SH4_Effects_GWX_30_71
LifeBoats&Debris_v4
Rbs3withlifeboat

Running GWX 3.0 and SH3 Commander 3.2

Install the lifeboat mod to your desktop, open it and look what you want
to use. There is an optional mod in it.

Then paste it to your modfolder and install it with the jsgme program,
that`s all.

Do the 2 lifeboat mods clash ?

Shouldn't do.
Rbs3withlifeboat is the compatibility mod to make LifeBoats&Debris_v4 work with SH4 effects.

I'm at a bit of a loss here. Just double checked my install order and it is the same as yours.

A suggestion.
Disable all of this
Rbs1_SH4_Effects_GWX_30_71
LifeBoats&Debris_v4
Rbs3withlifeboat

Try enabling just the lifeboat mod on its own. Then go to the torpedo school and try it out.

That way if it does work we know it's a conflict problem.
If it doesn't work it's a problem with the lifeboat mod.
Report back :DL

That's what I'm talkin' about!!

Note the life boat and the poor sailors flying through the air, indicating both the lifeboat mod and Racerboy's effects working nicely together.

As far as I can tell, the problem was that I wasn't properly transferring things into the "Mods" folder. For instance, the lifeboat mod had what I believe was an extra folder. Meaning the data folder was in a LifeBoats&Debris_v4 folder which was in yet another LifeBoats&Debris_v4 folder. Pulling the one that actually contained the data folder out and putting it into the mods folder got it going. Same for the Color Contacts mod that I was previously unable to get working!

Thanks for all the help guys!

Excellent, glad you got it working. It is awesome isn't it. :DL

bigboywooly 01-31-10 04:22 AM

And the sailors will fly through the air anyway
With just plain ole GWX

Glad you have it sorted
Sometimes mods have an extra folder on extraction which causes all sorts of issues

I'm afraid I may have spoken a bit too soon, one mod still not at all active that I can see. The Lite Harbor Traffic does not seem to work at all for me. I can't see any reason why it shouldn't, since it is one of the GWX optionals, and nothing else is overwriting it. It's not such a big deal if I use the "Start Patrols At Sea" function on SH3 Commander, but still annoying that I can't get something to work properly.

Anybody else have this problem? Any known issues with it??

Jimbuna 01-31-10 09:50 AM

May not be what you want to hear/read but all the GWX mods packed into the supermod will work perfectly fine. It is the additional 3rd party mods that can at times prove to be problematic.

In this instance it is obviously a 3rd party mod causing the phenomena you are experiencing.
