Great job Moderators
Great job by the Moderators over the last few days. This place exploded over the DRM issue, and the Moderators played it perfectly. Let people vent their frustration in an appropriate way at Ubisoft because of the DRM decision, but step on any threads suggesting cracks or piracy.
This was a text book exercise in how to ride a wave of discontent, and it reiterates why subsim is truly one of the best Forums out there. Great job, Guys. :yeah: |

Yeah, invisible moderators are the best moderators. (It sure helps that 89% of Subsims user base have brains)

If you want a good contrast, visit the official Total War forums.
If you post something critical of the abortionate mess ETW vanilla is, the post vanishes. Do it again you get banned. The only review that addressed all the issues and rightly panned the game was banned from the site, and any attempt to refer to it was purged. All the 95%+ "this is the greatest game ever to see the light of day" reviews ~ which also spoke volumes as to the professionalism of most game reviewers ~ were plastered all over the place. Talk about a totally terrible environment. The irony is the TotalWar Center site, where all the serious modders etc live, simply became more and more critical. The moderators here are good. I think in 9 years I've disagreed with them once, and even then it's civilised. The fact that this community is self-regulating to some degree helps a great deal, too. |
