Why hello Rodney!

Found Rodney in a convoy tonight. Thought I'd send him along to join his brother Nelson at the bottom of the Atlantic.
Nelson 07/09/1939 (that's DD/MM/YY format)

Rodney 30/04/1940 (again DD/MM/YY)

The one thing I forget is how deadly a disabled BB can be.

22% HI remaining when we reached Wilhelmshaven. But at least I've sunk the two Nelson class BB's now

Getting a shot at those big guys is exciting stuff. Sorry about your boat. How long were you in dry dock? Casualties?

The RN must be pissed, having lost two BB's in a half year!

Good shots!

unterseemann 01-25-10 05:16 PM

considering allied nations only lost two battleships due to uboots (HMS Royal Oak by U47-Prien and HMS Barham by U331-Von Tiesenhausen) during WWII, one can say you did a good job!

David I had 0 casualties, kept my boat dancing on the surface to try and throw off their aim long enough for me to get back under. I've got another patrol underway with my loyal U-47 but its her final one. After this one I'm upgrading to the VIIC.

I was in dry dock till about mid August getting the damage taken care of. Did a crew change while I was at it. Kept most of my experienced men and transferred out 3 Officers, 4 PO's, and 5 Seamen. Feels good to have a new crew working with me.

When it comes to witnessing a disabled battleship: how about watching the motionless Bismark (both intercepting British BB's were sunk before reaching her) pick off 4 escorts and 11 merchantmen which were part of a convoy that stumbled onto her location in May 1941.

I may still have the full story if you're interested.

Happy Hunting,
