I was 5 slides away from being finished with a 200+ slide power point presentation.

I was typing fast, i pushed the alt key to capiltalize a letter instead of the shift key.

this turned out to be the command for closing the application.

as i was typing rather quickly, my thumb hit space bar which selected the "OK" button on the popup window asking "Do you want to close without saving?"

before i knew what hit me everything was gone!!!!!!!!!!

im usually in the habit of saving periodically, however i was on a roll, my last save was unfortunatley about 10 slides into the presentation.

190 slides LOST!!!!!

Ouch. Sorry to hear about that. With a 200+ slide presentation, I'd save as often as I could but I get what you mean when going on a roll with a presentation. I found myself typing a lot before saving back in my college days.

Save early save often... its not just for games ya know :up:

I generally take this saving business pretty seriously.

Fortunately..

1. This presentation is 99% text and notes

2. This presentation required almost no animation

3. I already laid all of the information out in the order and wording i want on paper.

its just a matter of starting all the way over from scratch.:nope:

With chalk und blackboard or projector transparencies this wouldn't have happened to you. :know:

lol i have been using that for ages now.

I have to draw and redraw and redraw the figures and examples and acronyms etc EVERY OTHER DAY:yawn:

i figure with power point, i can draw it out all ONCE and have it for as many lessons and sessions as i need it.

Well something like this could be done in latex+beamer and you sure as hell wouldn't have lost 200 slides to a keypress.

"Ctrl+S" Every time you type a few points or finish a slide. Makes life much easier!

To bad you dont have Previous Version setup. Comes in handy at times it saves at enough points during the day.
