I son't think it's very polite to advertise your forum here.

Sailor Steve 01-05-10 01:18 PM

I don't know. Lots of folks do it.

WELCOME ABOARD, GBF_Nickwkr!:sunny:

As to your question, no one knows as yet. I personally never liked the co-op multiplay, and the only adversarial that ever got me going was SH2 vs DC, playing the destroyers. That was fun.

JU_88 01-05-10 02:19 PM

From what ive heard they should be enemy AI subs appearing in SHV.
Not sure how smart they will be though, I imagine the chances of you being ambushed by a submerged British Sub would be very slim.
-though about 17 Uboats were sunk this way.
In all cases the torpedoed sub was running sufaced at the time of the attack, (apart from that one incident involving HMS Ventura & a Type IX D2)

So if you are looking for submerged WW2 sub battles, forget it, its like two blindmen having a gun fight.
on top of that -WW2 subs cant even open there tubes below 30-40 meters because of the pressure.

I would like the idea of AI enemy boats:

In WAC 4.1 f.x., I was on my first patrol in Sept 39, late at night. Somewhere around the Danzig Bay I noticed a Russian sub surfaced. I was thinking: wtf is that guy doing here? OK, full stop, silence please. I could have easily finished him, he went just 1000m at 90 degrees in front of me and did not notice me.

For being historically correct, I did not attack.

A few minutes later I got a present from that guy... His duty was mine sweeping and I found one!

I think its a good extension to have those subs!

in those cases it is somehow directly related to submarines or the game otherwise it must be pre-approved by neal first

SteamWake 01-05-10 06:17 PM

Is there a big sub vs sub community in sh3?

Sailor Steve 01-08-10 12:00 PM

Well, I'm not going to call you anything, since I had no problem, at least with the sig part.

I do have to ask, though: what does the 'wkr' in your screen name stand for? I can think of several possibilities, not all of them polite.:D

That was in the sig and not name calling directed at you. Let's take a breath and start over.

first let me state that at this site we are 98% all mature adults who treat each other with respect even when we dissagree so we arent like some game sites where they are dominated by mostly immature azzholes who are always rude, insulting, or looking to start drama, we tend to act like grownups and are friendly to everyone.

your sig is ok so its fine and it was a simple mistake about missreading the post from kapitanleutnant because its not always easy to see the distinction where the posts stop and sigs begin but the line you see ( ____________ ) is the indication of the point where a sig begins.

above the line is where the post comment is and anything below the line is the sig part that shows up in every post the member makes.

please feel free to put your sig back up and just keep in mind that advertising "openly" is frowned upon unless someone asks you about it and then its ok to advertise in the form of a reply or requested info but try not to go overboard with it.

your sig was an advertisement that was there for anyone interested who clicked on it but on its own it was just there and it wasnt openly advertising to send people to another site. the addition of the comment above it was the "open advertising to go to another site" part i had issue with and so only that part was removed.

this is all a big missunderstanding all the way around and nobody ment to do anything wrong so shall we start fresh and begin again please?
