Any guys with SSD experience here?
I have the Crucial M225 128GB. Read up on the internet before I bought it. It got pretty good reviews.
CrystalDiskInfo tells me that I have firmware 1819 and that the drive supports TRIM. Just google CrystalDiskInfo if you want to check out your drive. I also tested my drive with CrystalDiskMark. Here are the results: SSD: -------------------------------------------------- CrystalDiskMark 2.2 (C) 2007-2008 hiyohiyo Crystal Dew World : http://crystalmark.info/ -------------------------------------------------- Sequential Read : 221.542 MB/s Sequential Write : 140.769 MB/sdd Random Read 512KB : 160.061 MB/s Random Write 512KB : 154.771 MB/s Random Read 4KB : 27.425 MB/s Random Write 4KB : 14.573 MB/s Test Size : 100 MB Date : 2009/12/30 15:05:33 And for comparison my 2x500GB RAID0: -------------------------------------------------- CrystalDiskMark 2.2 (C) 2007-2008 hiyohiyo Crystal Dew World : http://crystalmark.info/ -------------------------------------------------- Sequential Read : 182.390 MB/s Sequential Write : 181.443 MB/s Random Read 512KB : 60.392 MB/s Random Write 512KB : 100.611 MB/s Random Read 4KB : 0.876 MB/s Random Write 4KB : 4.211 MB/s Test Size : 100 MB Date : 2009/12/30 15:14:41 Should I expect better results on the SSD disk? The disk is 57% full. Its a bit below specifications. Is that normal behavior? |

Usually they market theoretical performance under ideal circumstances, so if performance is different as expected I'd say that's normal too. :hmmm: |
No I dont mean the size. I know what happens when you format a drive ;) I am thinking performance-wise.
There is a firmware update coming out soon from Crucial. I hope that will keep me afloat. I'm glad if anybody else has some thoughts/tips though. And thanks to you Arc for posting an answer. |
