It happens all the time, you cannot shield yourself from it. But you must not help to increase the effect beyond what you cannot avoid when going online, using your chip-healthcare card or your EC card and must enter your data in an office - for example by joining a "social network". People voluntarily join things like Facebook, cannot be helped. What you can do is paying in cash instead by card, travel by train instead of plane, and in general refuse to always pick the easy choice in everyday life when there is an alternative. Because many of these easy options are data- and chip-dependent.
And also be aware that every word you ever type in a forum, runs through automatic intel-filters searching for suspicious word combinations, names, synatx constellations, etc personalised language anomalies, etc. There are certainly things I would never type in a forum, or send via email (not to mention why I should make them known to a wide public at all). Same ammount of caution should be used when picking up your cellphone.
