Windows 7 problems
 

Hey everybody

I know its been a while since ive been here, but I am in dire need.

I recently purchased an HP DV7 laptop (desktop replacement) and installed steam on it, downloading SH3 immediately.
THE GAME DOESNT WORK!!! :wah: I can go through the menus and set up a career and all, but when i go to load a mission, it stalls at the loading screen when the bar gets to about 90% done, and then it crashes back to my desktop and says "Silent Hunter 3 has stopped working"
I tried downloading the 1.4 patch and its still no cigar. When i go to install the patch, it gives me a prompt that reads:

"This program could not update the installed version of Silent Hunter III US Download v1.0 to v1.3 because of the following reason:

c:\Program Files(x86)\steam\steamapps\common\silent hunter 3\data\Flotilla.cgf: unknown version."

And I have tried many times, and its not always Flotilla.cfg, sometimes its something like anim.cfg or something like that.
I have tried installing WAC 4.1 (with the windows7 patch) and SH3 Commander but to no avail, my SH3 is still unoperational.

Any help with these issues would make my life a lot better, since it would give my marauding spirit the freedom to send mass enemy tonnage to Davey Jones's locker!!!

Hm... it seems you already have the latest version which is 1.4 donloaded via steam. But to make sure you should make a right mouse click on your sh3.exe file and compare with my picture:

If you have version 1.4, apply the no dvd thing to avoid copy protection issues.
Then try to start the game!
If it still won´t work, try to use the Vista/Win7 Patch for WAC.
