[WIP]: Starshells for GWX
Currently I'm adapting a Starshells - Mod for GWX3 similar to the mod Stiebler did for NYGM.
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=158242 I really like these starshells, they look nice during a night convoy attack. But don't know if it is realistic. So my question is: Are they historically correct? And if yes: Which ships should be equipped with them? Stiebler equipped only merchants. What about warships and escorts? ----- I also want to import ONLY the nice red distress flares (when a ship sinks) from Racerboys SH4 mod into GWX3, but without all the other explosion effects (GWX3-explosions look better in my opinion). Unfortunately my knowledge with Materials.dat and Particles.* is not sufficient to do that alone. Does anyone know how to handle this? h.sie |

Our preferences regarding supermods seem to be very different. I perfer GWX or perhaps NYGM..... But thanks for your offer to help me. I already know how to add the Starshell-Gun to the ships (.eqp files). But I don't know how to modify the GWX3 Materials.dat and Particles.* in order to import ONLY the distress flares of the SH4-effects-Mod into GWX. I don't want to use the Materials.dat and Particles from the SH4-effects mod, because I perfer the GWX explosions and effects. Do you have an idea how to do that? I guess the distress flares are coupled with some explosion- or sinking events, but I've never worked with events, effects and materials. Greetings from Hamburg, h.sie |
