Question about Time Compression and Weather changes
Hello!
Does anybody know, has a higher degree of Time compression (TC) than 1024 an effect / influence on the frequency of the weather change? :hmmm: I use the RealWeatherFix and have the TC set via SH3 Commander up to my personal maximum 4096 (Navimap View). For example, when I crossing the atlantic with TC at 4096, changes the weather too often and too quickly, sometimes up to 3 times in 24 Hours ! Have observed that even with 2048 TC ! With other words: Changes the weather more quickly and more frequently, when I play with more than 1024 time compression? I hope, you know what I mean and sorry for my bad english ! Any Ideas ? :yep: Thank you and best regards, Magic |
*bump* :D
Has nobody an idea / experience with it? Best regards, Magic |
I noted your post a couple of days ago, and started to answer. I really had not noticed your problem with time compression.
My problem always has been the reverse: endless bad weather and 15m/s winds. If changing the weather with high time compression works, you have made a great contribution to the community. I'll give it a try later, but I want to try the new Mediterranean Sea add on first. Your English is very good, concise, and to the point. I would give you an A-. :woot: If you really want to see bad language, you should see my French or German. :damn: |
As with the above post, ive always had the exact reverse problem, anything higher than 128x and the weather just kind of sticks, worst i ever had was a whole 2 in-game weeks of 15m/s seas with heavy rain/fog.
Ive never tried the real weather fix though so maybe thats the culprit for your speedy changes. |

Hello Guys !
Many thanks for your Replies and your opinion about my english ! What I mean was, the weather on 2048 or 4096 TC changed too quickly and too often, but always between bad and very bad ! Fine weather is the absolute exception! And this I have observed, even without the "RealWeatherFix"! I would be very grateful for further reports, whether a higher TC than 1024 really speeds up the change of weather!:up::up: Thank you and best regards, Magic :salute: |
The best done so far have been incorporated into the NYGM and GWX mods. They help a bit, but the basic weather algorithm is poor in the unfixable files of SH3 (and SH4).:damn::damn::damn:
Rubini has a work around: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...ht=weather:up: |

I have downloaded the MOD from rubini. But it is so, that it was made for GWX 2.0. For example, I use a different scene.dat in my Super-MODs. Therefore, if someone knows the parameters from the scene.dat of the "Stop the rain MOD" ? I would then incorporate these into my own scene.dat. ! :hmmm: Or can I also use the MOD "Stop the rain" with GWX3.0, WAC4.1 and Living Silent Hunter 5.0, when playing with these super-mods in continuing bad weather? :hmmm: Best regards, Magic |
I have used the program with GWX3.0 with the 8, 16, and the 20 Km atmospheric mods without any problems.
You should note that there are two mods of stop the rain; one for the 8Km and one for the 16Km. Since the mod is used briefly and then deactivated, any changes are temporary and of no great importance. The game is unplayable with heavy fog, 15Km winds, heavy rain. Since this can go on for several weeks (of game time), and if you play with 100% realism and no stabilized views, the game becomes a marathon of watching paint dry. The weather system is broken in SH3. |
