flak guns and their ammo
 

do flak guns only carry one type of ammo? can they be changed to other types such as HE or AP maybe?

Flak gun use:

In average, for 20 mm barrel AP ammo.for 37 mm,AP and AA.

If you're using GWX, all ammo for the deck gun was removed bar HE, as that was a realistic load of the time. There is a mod, maybe on the downloads section of this site, that returns the other types back into the game, maybe someone can provide a link.

I believe that even stock supplies only one ammo type for the 2cm and 3.7cm Flak guns.

Ooops, my mistake, he said Flak guns. I'm sure though that stock had AP and HE ammo whereas GWX only uses AP, but again, I could be wrong.

The light anti-aircraft guns on the u-boats are just glorified heavy macheanguns, as such they only have the one kind of ammuntion; a bulet. The heavy anti-aircraft guns have two kinds of ammuntion: A cannon shell, your basic bulet that if you hit the target with will cause a lot of damage. The second type is an air bursting flack round, causes lighter damage to the targets but has the added benafit of area effect so you don't have to hit the target directly to cause damage. I play with the GWX mod so it may be diferant in the stock game.
