Schumi to be racing in the Silberpfeil - almost certain?
http://www.focus.de/sport/formel1/fo...id_462436.html
Schumi for Mercedes...?! According to the magazine FOCUS, the deal is perfect: 5M for racing in the 2010 season, and the intention to win him for a committment beyond that timeframe. Last remaining obstacle is the medical checkup, says the article. |
I believe it when I see it.
Remember, Kimi should be listed on pretty much all of the teams if you believe what papers tell you. :DL |
Dowly...! Because of your completely hilarious sig I need to prepare myself a new breakfast now! :haha:

As for Schumi, I think he could still race, and win. Skill like that doesn't just vanish in a couple of years. He just needs to find his hunger for winning. |
Over this day, more and more German media reported that Schumi's return into the cockpit is "as good as sealed". Two different media refer to their own sources independently from each other. Only that he will function as an advisor to mercedes after 2010, his manager refused to confirm. His manager does not object to Schumi driiving in 2010, however.
Ferrari's new treaty offer the 7 times world champion has on the table since weeks - and he still has not signed it. He is also said to have negotiated about quitting his other treaties with Ferrari. And finally, his close friend Ross Brawn is team chef at Mercedes. The two men share quite a history in the sport. It could become true! As I see it, chances are such that only a failed medical check could prevent it. I guess the chances to be better than 4:1 [grumblegrumble, there's never no crystal orb when one needs one...] I really wonder how he will perform in racing. |
I don't think Schumi will run again in F1. He did the right thing by quiting at the height of his career. And if he does return, it will be painfully obvious that the best years are behind him. I just can't see him topling what he achieved during his years in Ferrari.
|
I dont think he is stupid enough to do that. No, have a go at Le Mans, mr Schumacher.
|
Now it's even on german TV. Still not 100% confirmed, but two major channels reported about it in their prime time news. His physical therapist gets quoted with that the problems he had with pain in his neck and back, what stalled is comeback for Ferrari, are all gone, and that he is in "top shape".
If this story is not confirmed to be wrong by the middle of next week, I'll start betting money on his comeback . :DL |

Almost done deal - every source commenting on this story seems to say so. Only the medical exam can stop this now. I expect him to win this or that race, and rank in the top quarter of the field. I do not expect him to battle for the championship. However, Schumacher is not just any ordinary race driver, so - you never know for sure until the season is over. It surely will attract a lot of attention back to F1, which was in troubled waters since Schumacher quit. Some will come to see him winning. Others will come to see him losing. |

He did it!
German tabloid "Bild" reports that Schumi has signed a 1-year treaty for 7 million. He will then race the whole season in a Mercedes cockpit. http://www.bild.de/BILD/sport/motors...-moeglich.html why has nobody raised a bet against me - with high stacks of money? His starting number is 4, and Mercedes is working on getting a special permission for testing in January. The sensation is perfect. Let'S see if he can keep it alive. I expect him not battling for the championship, but winning some races and ending the season amongst the top 4 or 5. |
