Note on The Saboteur

It doesn't work on ATI cards. At all.

You have been warned. :)

Apart from that it's a little rough around the edges, but not a bad game (or so I hear, haven't played it yet).

Saboteur PC Not Working With ATI Graphics Cards?

The Saboteur Review: Rough Draft

NeonSamurai 12-10-09 07:39 AM

Several Nvidia users are also having problems with it

^ Ouch. *scratches Saboteur off the wanted games list*

Imho you can blame EA for this one. As soon as Pandemic got to their deadline, all of 'm were fired and the studio closed. :shifty:

If they tested it at all, they must have done so on ATI hardware as well. No way in hell EA didn't know about this issue. But it's kind of difficult to push release back a month or 2 and polish it up a bit more if you close the frickin studio. :nope:

Sometimes I wonder if there's a limit to how obnoxious a company can behave. EA is definetly raising the bar, regularly... a bar they set themselfs.

Ironic as EA was starting to get a slightly better reputation. Guess they never quite learn.

I hear though that at least this game doesn't have all the game breaking bugs that mercenaries 2 did.

SgtPotato 12-10-09 12:16 PM

I was planning to get this game for christmas... D:

Not a smart thing to say around these parts. :timeout:

Indeed, people were just starting to focus on Activision.

Not all of Pandemic was fired. 200 out of 500 employee's were mixed into EA's ranks.

As for the Saboteur, I have it for the Ps3, its a pretty good game. Could of used a wee bit more polish and a couple tweaks here and there. But still all in all a good game. One of the neat features I like is the fact that Nazi's will come out of buildings during higher alarms. So even if you're on top of a building, you're not exactly safe.

I received my first level 5 Alarm the other day(by sneaking into a Shore battery base as a Wehrmacht soldier, getting into one of the shore guns and perceding to blow whatever moved into kingdom come.) To escape the alarm you either need to enter a hiding spot(like the pay and spray from gta) or leave the alarm circle(Like GTA4). At each Alarm level the circle gets bigger, at level 5 the circle takes up the whole map. :o

There are only two hiding spots that will remove a level 5 wanted level, one is the Effiel tower, and the other a random Well in the Loraine country side. When I had received the level 5 alarm I was exactly in between them. With several kilometers between each. I decided to go to the well considering it was out in the country side(lower Nazi occupation). I spent the next 10 minutes running to said well trying to avoid roads teeming with Nazis. While a Messerschmidt preceded to make fly bys at me. At one point I had to cross a road and nearly died from the explosive ammunition being fired at me from tanks and experimental armor. :rotfl2: Eventually I made it to the well and lost the Alarm(unlocking one of the Perks). It was an intense 10 minutes.

Not all of Pandemic no, but all of the studio. ;)

The main point is not whatever the game is working or not, the point that thise game is not comming close to today modern stardarts. Its a badly done clone of GTA. Imho.

Arclight 12-20-09 05:31 PM

Not sure I understand what you're saying. If you mean it's a bad game I tend to disagree, but it is an epic fail on the technical level. :-?

Wolfehunter 12-20-09 09:03 PM

Yup a real mess they did. The future of PC games from Console hacks.. :hmmm:

Ilpalazzo 12-20-09 11:45 PM

Another horrible title sets the bar for bad pc ports?

NeonSamurai 12-21-09 09:55 AM

They released a beta patch which seems to fix many of the problems with the game not running.

Arclight 12-21-09 09:51 PM

Indeed, but there are strings attached and it really needs another one. :-?

The Saboteur is Le Patched, But Will Need un Autre, Soon
