Repair problem (stock game)

Sorry if this has already been answered, but I can't figure out the repair procedure in SH4. Both the AA and deck guns were damaged during an aircraft attack (USS Shark). However, I can't seem to get them repaired (while on the surface). I filled up the damage control team and activated them using the repair icon. The view inside the control room shows them working. The repair time for the AA gun was 29 secs and 13 secs for the deck gun. However, neither seem to be worked on (the seconds aren't counting down even after using time compression). I hit the Y key to make sure one or the other was a priority. Tried moving crew to the guns themselves and still no repairs. What am I missing? Thanks.

I've found that repairs will sometimes glitch up. Try saving and reloading the game, and see if that makes any difference. Past that, are you sure that the guns are damaged and not destroyed?

Try ordering the guns to be manned.

Ya gotta man em to fix em.

You can probably shoot them. Stock has so many glitches. I would do as someone said, save and restart, usually fixes the glitch......some good mods out there.........jes saying.

Manning the guns did it. Thanks!

Yes, there are a lot of bugs. For example, my crew is still yelling at me even though a battle situation is long gone. Too bad since the graphics are better than SH3.

I'm considering one of the super mods... :hmm2:

Think graphics are good with stock, a supermod like TMO is gonna really surprise you

Try ordering them to silent running for a few minutes maybe then they will quit yelling :haha:

I hate that too.

I like your sig! Very cool and very different from what we usually see. My aunt was a WAV in the Navy during WW2.

Thank you.

I sometimes wish I could go back in time to that era and serve as a WAV.

You should have met my aunt. Tough bird she was. She was in command of 35 nurses. So, you can imagine 35 nurses amongst the fighting men who have only seen dirt, death and carnage for months. She kept them in line! She has passed away. Her husband also served in the PTO as a torpedo and aircraft mechanic. He is 86 and is in an assisted care home. He does not recognize his kids anymore. He seems generally happy and plays cards all day. Time has taken his mind. My uncle never spoke of the war but once. I had another uncle in the ETO. B17 pilot. Brother to my living uncle in the assisted living home. Shot down over Kiel 1943 and perished. Yes, sometimes I think I would like to visit that time and experience what it was really like.
