Could i gat this baby as a bonus for finishing the game?
So i can replay it in more fantasy mode
Type XI U-cruisers Huge U-boats, designed in 1937-1938, with 4 127mm deck guns in two gun-towers (one fore and aft of the conning tower). 6 torpedo tubes (4 in the bow and two at the stern, all below the CWL). One Ar 231 small aircraft in a watertight 2.6m in diameter container shaft. These boats were to have a crew of about 110 men almost double that of any constructed German U-boat. 4 contracts (U-112 thru U-115) were awarded to the AG Weser yard in Bremen on Jan 17, 1939 but wisely cancelled at the outbreak of war in September that year and none of the boats had been laid down at the time (some sources mention U-112 as being laid down but that does not make sense). These boats are often claimed to not only have been completed but sailed, usually on very clandestine missions and for good measure words like SS, Hitler, Bormann and the like are thrown into the mix. None of this is true and they very certainly not black as some suggest as it is somewhat hard to paint something that does not exist black. Now lets take convoy DD for a head to head :DL |

Why not have a nuclear type xxi with laser rays and cruise missles.

There's a project to salvage it.
found a topic in subsim forum http://www.subsim.com/radioroom//showthread.php?t=96054 theres a link to the story. I'm not asking a USS Entrerprise sub. But a sub that was a unique design, one of these was produced and operational. There's also the French Surcouf Sub that needed more than 2 minutes to dive... So don't laugh, i would enjoy the the possibility of taking the command of a prototype sub as a reward. |

We don't even know if the type XXI will be in on release (unless I missed something). :hmmm: |
people it's a simple request
All I ask for.. Are sharks with frikkin laser on their heads!!! |
Cripes next thing you know they will have a 'social' websites with accomplishments and 'rewards'. :haha:
Naw keep the goofy acheivments and deliver a solid core game please. |
I don't see it as goofy or arcadish. It's not something I'd want, but if it was there it would be fun to try once. Méo mentioned the biggest problem, that of modeling the interior. Also of course the developers' time is filled with trying to get the thing done on time with what they already have.
The best solution would be for them to leave slots for extra types to be added, and to make it free enough that modders could build things like that. As for 'unlocking' and 'rewards'? That does sound a little to gamey for me. Just make it so people can add what they want and make special missions for them and I'm all for it, whether I use it or not. |
I like the idea of leaving "expansion" slots for user made boats.
The U-cruiser sounds fun. A sort of "what if" Which in itself is not a game killer. Honestly I don't understand when people freak out about inclusions of proposed vessels, such as the walter boat. The type XVIII was a probability, and would have had a profound effect on the course of the war. I would like the inclusion of all boats that saw service, as well as later in the war having some "super boats" available, for high tonnage captains. |
Meh, if the game allows extra boats to be added then I wouldn't care if Mush Martin brought back his Uberboot - would make no difference to me because I simply wouldn't install it.
Besides, I know the "realism" mods will remain true... Having such stuff as "unlockable achievements" though? :nope: |
