Problems activating SH4 1.5

I just got my laptop back, so its time to game!
But now when ever i type in the code and hit activate, i get an error

ivank 11-24-09 12:39 PM

nothing

how can we help if you dont tell us anything?

if your computer had parts replaced then uninstall the game, clean out any leftover files and then reinstall the game

New video card, RAM, and hard drive, so no left over files.

Heh, I was just trying to install UBM on a new computer setup with Windows 7. Activation error! $10 more for an online order of SH4 Gold...

Someone else asked the same question a while ago and it turned out he was using the wrong code. You gave no info so if you have SH4 and then a downloaded Uboat add on, you may be using the wrong code. I think it was a D2D download.

I have SH4, downloaded 1.5 and I am using the code given to me when i got 1,5.

I think it might be a Win7 issue. I will just buy a new copy.

Ivank,
Did you try the CD Key from the SH4 booklet? (can't call it an instruction manual :har:)

No I did not
Too late, I just ordered a new copy of SHIII and SHIV Gold, along with SHII.

Just having to activate online, I was really bothered when it didn't work, and Ubisoft is still around, so I have to wonder what's going on. So I found a cheap copy and ordered one, so's I ouldn't have to go through this.

I know, I know, Microsoft does this...

I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate on my new PC, trying to activate 1.5 which I think is the # for the U-Boat mod I get an error stating: Unknown Error.

I AM using the correct key, it is the key they e-mailed me when I spent the $10.00 to buy the 1.5 game in '08. This must be a Win 7 issue I bet as I am an Admin, I have added exceptions to the firewall, I have even turned the firewall Off!!! and have rebooted

Have run it as an admin (despite being one), no go, not working.

What is the solution here? Is there a Gold DVD that we can buy from Neil that has all of this already on it?

not saying it is or isnt going to help but sometimes its just simple error like typing the letter "o" instead of a zero or I instead of a 1 or vise versa

those keys can be funny like that sometimes

plus some of the downloaded keys are one time activations that are designed that way so you cant share your key with a friend

its something you can usually straighten out from the place you bought the game and get a new key in most cases after you explain what happened so if anyone else has this issue maybe this info can help them.

Just installed windows 7 and SH4 with the uboat addon 1.5.

I have a dual-boot of windows xp and windows 7 in this computer, and the game validates on XP but not windows 7 ("activation failed: unknown error"). I had the game working on a dual XP-XP system set up, so this leads me to conclude it's a win7 issue..

I reinstalled SHIV + 1.4 patch on my Win 7 machine a few weeks ago, but I havent got 1.5 and no online activation required..

Game runs just fine on Win 7

not sure but maybe the activation is looking for the game in the default directory maybe?

try installing thegame to default directory then see if it activates, if it does then just move the game file after its been acticvated and the file paths should redirect themselves after

give us some details where you got the game and if its a disk version or download or combination of both

also it could be that its not your game but your activation key was a one time activation only because some download versions do that
