How to change UZO zoom

It really drives me crazy. In order to change UZO zoom, I opened Cameras.dat, chose Node _Dummy_Cam_UZO and played around with Optical/Zoom-Levels and with CameraParams/Angular Angle. But the UZO Zoom did not change.......any ideas? Thank you!

You need to open Cameras Dat in S3D and change values under optical node:

_Dummy_Cam_UZO-->Optical
You need to change zoom levels, also You can increase number of zoom levels. Superior number of zoom in the zoom level section should not be bigger than the max zoom.

Hi Evan,

Thanks, but I already know how to change the UZO and Periscpes zoom using S3D. But I made a mistake. And other people made the same mistake:

I finally found out why I couldn't change zoom factors and I think it's worth to be posted here so that other people can use that information:

I made a backup copy of cameras.dat (called cameras1.dat) in the same library-folder. Unfortunately SH3 seems to read in all files in the library folder regardless of their file names (!!!!!) so that the old zoom values were read in instead of the new ones. Zoom was not changed.

Then I moved the backup file cameras1.dat to a different folder and - yeah - now the zoom changed.

Hi !

You can make a backup from every File in the same folder, you must only needs to put a semicolon in front of the file, for example: ;cameras.dat.
SH3 does not read this !

Best regards,
Magic

Yes I understand. This explain everything. You had two dat cam files in the library, but probably not only the names of these files was the same, but also ID for UZO zoom was the same in the both files, especially if one of these files was a copy of the second file.:salute:
