Looking for a movie
There's not much I remember from it, but I'm sure if one's seen it he knows what I mean.
Right. The movie is set in on an island in the Pacific during WW2 where an Japanese and an american soldier duel each other. I believe it was an sniper duel, but I cant be sure of that. IIRC, there were 2 americans first, but the other got shot by the Japanese soldier. :hmmm: Also, the american fooled the enemy by faking the M1 Garand's distinctive 'PING' sound and so lured the sniper into open in the end of the flick. And lastly, I think that the two survived and met in some reunion thing or something in the last scene of the movie. Anyone got any idea what I'm blabbering about? |
Ooops, sorry about that. Found it. :DL
'The Last Bullet' is the name if anyone's interested. |
Never heard of it, but I'll bet Hell In The Pacific, with Lee Marvin and Toshiro Mifune was better.

I got up really early to watch Hell In he Pacific. It was worth falling asleep in school to watch that movie.

Found a clip of what you're talking about on Youtube, is this it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbwNUqXv75Y |
I still havent gotten my hands on The Last Bullet. And to be honest, I'm not sure if that's it. I dont see no Garands in that clip you posted. :hmmm:
It might be that it was the series then, as I dont remember the things leading up to the duel, so it might be that I've caught the last episode of it and though it was a movie. I THINK that towards the end, either the allied or the japanese soldier tried to slit the other's throat with a bayonet but didnt finish the job and so in the reunion part the other had a distinct scar on his throat. |
Yea, I remember that there was an assault with a bayonet by the Japanese guy when he ran out of bullits. What on earth was that tv-movie/tv-series/movie called?
