V!

You know I was watching some of the original episodes and I had a thought run through my mind. "Hrm... this is almost like a parody of contemprary events".

Today I read this !

Now I have to admit I have not seen the remake but hey Chicago Tribune I dont know how to break this to you but it was the original plot. :rotfl2:Who is obssesed with Obama now?

Ha I was thinking the same thing!:haha: (Stop reading my mind SW:D) I love the opening to the first episode, the dedication of the series to all resistance fighters, past, present, and future:salute:

I miss those 80's shows, they were pretty cool.:yeah:

The news media swoons in admiration -- one simpering anchorman even shouts at a reporter who asks a tough question: "Why don't you show some respect?!" The public is likewise smitten, except for a few nut cases who circulate batty rumors on the Internet about the leader's origins and intentions. The leader, undismayed, offers assurances that are soothing, if also just a tiny bit condescending: "Embracing change is never easy."

So, does that sound like anyone you know? Oh, wait -- did I mention the leader is secretly a totalitarian space lizard who's come here to eat us?
The real version is a marxisit lizard who is going to rape our wallets and plunder our economy.

Now how can you accuse obama of being a reptile?

Well, he is a lawyer:hmmm:

okay, so the show is about obama.:haha:

It's funny how perspectives change depending on who's in power. I remember talking to a conservative leaning guy shortly after the movie came out who wouldn't see it because he thought it was too anti government.

I never saw the series but thought the movie was pretty good.

PD

Wait, what am I thinking:dead: Hollywood would never make fun of The Leader (praise allah, bessed be His name our leader Obama)...
So in the new show, the aliens are bushcheneypalinrumsfeldhalliburton, and the leader will save us from those from the bourgeois. The Leader utilizes his faith of Marx-Leninism to crush the capitalist invaders.:woot:

Ain't that the truth!

Funny it's just been advertised on TV last night, starts soon, anyone know what it's like compared to the original? Worth watching or crap?:hmmm:

Saw it tonight. Not so good. Very rushed pacing, the story is blah, imo.

But I got a huge laugh when the Visitors said they came to bring Universal Health Care. :D

Typical of todays stuff!!:-? 90% effects & 10% story line!!

you are 1000% correct.:salute: I think our current crop in hollywood is lazy and un-imaginitive. All they know how to do these days is remake things.:nope:. I laugh when they are remaking things from the 80's. So when are they going to remake star wars?

Oh Geez! I was hoping that when I heard this earlier today it was just a joke.

Yeh I have to say that todays sitcoms & reality shows suck big time, if you took sex out of them the shows would air for 5 minutes each!!:yep:
Compare a standup comedian today to way back with personalities like Bob Hope, good clean fun.
Where are to good shows like:
I Dream of Jeanie
Bewitched
Munsters
Adams Family
Original Star Trek
Bonanza
Time Tunnel
Even some of the eighties corny ones like Knight Rider!!
They had plenty of fun, good content and stories without all the sex and violence!
They need to go back to the drawing board IMO!!:yep:
There I've had my whinge for the day!!;)

nikimcbee 11-04-09 02:13 AM

damn, I fell asleep during it. There was the hot V chick recruiting for amway or something, then I passed out.
