Full screen with Windows7

Since I updated to Windows7, SHIII has played in a 4/3 aspect ratio with black bars on the side of the screen. I tried the various resolution fixes without success. (Game wouldn't load.) I have a Nvidia GeForce 9800m GTS with the latest drivers.
I found that if I set my desktop resolution to 1024 by 800 (actually 786) and used the Nvidea scaling that the game would play in full screen without the black bars on the side, exactly as it played before.
My computer refuses to use and other resolution to load SH3.

Thanks for the advice. I'll check Ebay for a jack hammer with all the problems I have with computers. :arrgh!:

I did, to the letter; I could never get the resolution fix to work on my computer either. I know it was active because the only thing it did was kill my frame rate when I had Vista. Both on Windows7 CTD right away.
Changing the resolution in my Nvedia control panel worked.
