"Margaret, of Rotterdam, Holland, was diagnosed with a "borderline personality disorder"."

Borderline?

Personality?

Platapus 11-01-09 10:34 AM

I think we can all agree on the "disorder" part right? That's a given. :yep:

I wonder if she uses a knife and a fork to eat her knives and forks? Or does she *gasp* use her fingers?

Borderline Personality Disorder

Its a type of personality disorder. From the DSM-IV TR "A personality disorder is an enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates markedly from the expectations of an individual's culture, is pervasive and inflexible,...,is stable over time and leads to distress or impairment."

Borderline people are highly unstable in virtually all senses (relationships, self-image, etc) and highly impulsive. They also have abandonment issues, and can be suicidal, and self mutilate. People with Borderline Personality Disorder, often also suffer from other personality disorders.

They are people you really want to avoid if at all possible, but they can be difficult to identify. I've known a few in my life who were definite candidates for it, and made the mistake of dating one though I didn't realize it at the time.

To her, knives and forks are finger foods.

If she was smart enough not to ingest her own cutlery, she could still sell it for a profit.

Maybe she was just waiting for the prise of silver to rise before seeing a doctor :hmmm:

How the hell does one even GET a disorder that makes them want to eat cutlery !?!

Definately one of the more strange things I've read of recent :hmmm:

Aramike 11-03-09 02:23 AM

You know what's most puzzling about this?

That 77, 76, 75, or 2 pieces of cutlery weren't enough to give her a stomach ache worthy of a doctor visit.

 what the heck...
