Thought I was the Man without a Country.
 

Got a new boat,Transfered to Brisbane. On a roll, sinking and dodging Destroyers. Refitted three times at Midway. Finnally got nailed by a Zero, but when I got back to Brisbane, all I could do was refit or postpone. Well Hell! So I head back to Pearl, and still no end patrol. On the world Map I notice all the bases but Freemantle have non slanted anchors. Evidentally I was transfered. I went back through my ships log and no mention was made of a transfer. Que Pasa? Of course, much time and travel was spent figuring this out while I could have been sinking Japs. Has Anybody else experienced this Comsubpac screwup?

That does happen depending on the date you get your sub, and which sub you get. If I remember right if you get a Balao you go to Fremantle, if you get a Gato you go to Pearl Harbor. So if you either get one offered while there or if you have one after a certain date you get transferred.

Try to think of it as the game's way of mixing some good old-fashioned bureaucratic stupidity into your operations. The real captains certainly had to put up with their share. ;)
