Ares I-X Launch

For the space fans out there

Quote:

The launch team is now planning to come out of the current T-4 minute hold at 10:50 a.m. EDT, aiming for a liftoff at 10:54 a.m. The recycle of the launch vehicle went smoothly after the hold was called due to weather.

I'm going to bet they scrub it today anyway, its not looking to good with the weather.

SteamWake 10-27-09 10:25 AM

Thats what I was wondering its been overcast and raining since last night here and Im only a couple hundred miles from the space coast and assume the weather there is about the same.

Oberon 10-27-09 10:25 AM

Looks like you're right, launch is scrubbed for today.

SteamWake 10-27-09 11:14 AM

Dont know what their turn around time is but the weather is supposed to be overcast with rain for the next couple of days.

Its all because I cleaned my telescope :haha:

Its like the wash your car thing! See what happens when you clean your scope!

I really hope that this test goes well once they get it off the ground...things could be very bad if this test does not work out.

longam 10-28-09 10:08 AM

Possible launch at 11:20. Last chance anyway.

SteamWake 10-28-09 10:16 AM

The rain has abated at least in the early hours of the day. It is still overcast.

We had one hellua storm come through here yesterday but they usually wait till late afternoon.

Perhaps they will get off this time.

Oberon 10-28-09 10:34 AM

Up she goes! :salute:

Oberon 10-28-09 10:37 AM

Seperation looked spectacular.

Oberon 10-28-09 10:38 AM

Down she comes...

Oberon 10-28-09 10:40 AM

Looks like the chute has deployed good. Upper stage water impact.

All in all, looks like a good launch. Well done NASA :yeah:
