Nope, brother is but we are quite polar opposites in a fair bit of ways.

NeonSamurai 10-23-09 03:39 PM

No definitely not. I use to like the WWF but I was like ten at the time (25+ years ago).

As far as I am concerned 'Wrestling' is the male equivalent of soap operas (and bad soaps at that).

As a high school wrestler i resent my sport being referred to as a soap opera. Furthermore, Tv shows such as wwf and TnA are mockeries of what the sport really is and anyone who refers to such shows as wrestling have no clue what wrestling is really about . Sorry, no intention to flame just sticking up for my sport.

me and my buddies used to do WWE wrestling on a trampoline, we used to take the time out to figure out how to do the bone crusing moves without crushing any bones haha. I just kinda fazed out of it, it became uninteresting.

Maybe you need to be a high school English student. He put it in quotes: 'wrestling'. That indicates that he meant to point out that it's not real wrestling.

Perhaps personal attacks are against the Sub Sim rules

Attack? You expressed resentment erroneously. I merely pointed out that fact.

SteamWake 10-24-09 09:07 PM

There is a big gap between wrestling and the crap you see on the tube.

Debate ended. :salute:

Seth8530 10-24-09 11:12 PM

i believe steamwake said it best. correcting grammar or other mistakes is bad netiquette; therefore, can be considered a personal attack. Also my comment about wrestling was directed at no poster, but perhaps i should of clarified that.
Ill leave my rant at that.

I'm an on and off wrestling fan. I used to be a HUGE WWF fan up till the end of the "Attitude" era. I lost interest when they bought out WCW and it seemed that the writing REALLY went downhill as they tried to fit all those new workers from WCW into RAW and Smackdown. WWE right now does nothing for me. I like my wrestling on the comic book side of things and it seems that WWE has turned it's back on that completely. The new wrestlers really don't have any cool or interesting gimmicks or character anymore. When I turn on WWE, it seems like instead of cool battles between larger than life characters, what we get is "Parade of D-Bags"

TNA on the other hand is much more up my alley right now. Vince Russo who was the head writer for WWE during the "Attitude" era is the head writer for TNA. TNA also has that "Comic book" feel that I like.

Also, If you're a wrestling fan, and want to play something interesting and fun, check out Extreme Warfare Revenge, and Total Extreme Wrestling 2005. Both are freeware and have a large communiy that is always keeping their wrestler databases up to date with pretty much EVERYTHING in the wrestling world. They are basicly Wrestling Promotion Sims, but they are incredibly detailed and fun. I prefer Extreme Warfare Revenge, but I play TEW2005 for it's multiplayer capability. These games are the games I'm usually playing when I'm not playing a subsim. :DL

You can get both games here: http://www.ewbattleground.com/
Also, if you go into their forums, there's a message board area called TEWR. In there, you can find stat updates, and other addons as well as a really cool fan base.
You can download a LOT of stat updates, mods, and pic packs for both games here: http://www.ewinventory.com/ew.html

If you try them, and get lost, just PM me and I'll give you a hand with them. :DL

I'm pretty sure that, using the acronyms "WWE" and "TNA" in the very TITLE OF THIS THREAD made it quite clear that the context was in the sense of the enterprise of ENTERTAINMENT labelled as wrestling, and not the sport you played in highschool.

It seems only prudent to consider the meaning behind a post well-before taking offense to it. Anything else is, well, highschool drama-queen-esqu. :ping:
