Put it this way: of course if there were any revealing documents they would have been destroyed. So to completely prove it may be difficult. And it may be nothing than a circumstantial evidence that his father's mother supposely worked for a Jewish family and got pregnant with the son of the family. But if the father of Alois Hitler is unknown, it's not entirely impossible to be true.
And that rumour alone would probably explain a lot.
