Frugal's...?
 

Anyone knowing what happened to them? They are offline since a longer time now. Since they gave no warning in advance, at least none I would be aware of, this smells like they have suffered a devastating server attack...?

I remember Frugal's going up and down in the past with Mark(Frugal) being busy in real-life and forgetting to make server payments, renewing the domain etc. :D

Hopefully it's something equally trivial this time around too.

There is chatter that they have run into some major problems while moving to a new server, the size of their database gives them problems. There is a chance for a worst case scenario of needing to refer to an older backup, loosing all postings made after that. the loss could become as great as the past two years.

At the time of writing this, the site is still down.

Frugal has given a personal update and says that not only the new server was not up to the job, but that his private life is under stress by severe family issues as well, that massively - and understandably - interfere with the workload of moving to another server. He has no intention to let FW go, he says, but the troubles will continue for the forseeable future.

I do not expect FW back online soon.

P.S. He also said the old backup is fully functionable. No content lost.
