Herbert Grönemeyer.
Well, never heard of the guy before, but i saw he played Lt Werner in *Das boot* im addicted to wikipedia so i checked him out. Turned out that hes also a musician, i can just say i love his music and say that you all listen to him.
atleast for those that likes softrock ;) |
Problem with Grönemeyer is - he is famous in Germany that almost nobody can understand what he sings. :DL No joke, it's true. Say "Grönemeyer" on the streets, and people immediately say "Boy I can't understand that guy..."
He should write songs, but not sing himself, imo. A few of his texts and songs were good, most do not interest me. In German pop music he is one of the leading big numbers. "Das Boot" was just an experiment in acting, he does not make any appearances as actor since then. In a long talkshow I once saw him in he gave me the impression to be a very reasonable, intelligent and sensible guy. |
How come they cant understand him? im not even good at german, but i still get the meaning with most songs :p

He mutters and balks. :D

After "Das Boot" he plays 1983 as an actor in the german movie "Frühlingssinfonie". This movie was the first co-production of West- and East- Germany. In preparation for this role, he lived for half a year in the GDR.
2007 he was acting as a doctor in the movie Control, a film about Ian Curtis, lead singer of the band Joy Divison. My first contact with his music was 1982 when he sang his song about a very popular German fast food dish, the Currywurst. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZvyV...eature=related |
