Frankly I find this a tad disturbing.

I'm sure they did the same thing with Bush. Okay probably not. But what kind of country do we live in if we cant indoctrinate our children just like Uncle Joe in Russia 70 years ago. Everybody loved Uncle Joe, I mean he was like the countries uncle for god sake!

I see no problem with this. The best case scenario is that in a few years these lil hero's for "Uncle Obama" will turn in their parents for talking wrong of the great leader during dinner!

Acorns ranks will be filled with these little soldiers...ummmm I mean workers soon!

How old do you have to be to vote? Just heard the Dems want to reduce it to 10!

ROFL at this ignorant video and some teachers that need to be fired!

I don't see what the problem with this is. I can remember going to singing programs for my nephew years back where they had 4th of July songs about the presidents (from Washington to the current one of the time; Clinton and yes- Bush), the government, Constitution, country, you get the picture. Mountains out of... well- flat plains. People try and stir stuff up like this all the time, about even smaller things. Why just look at his "stay in school" speech that he gave a few weeks ago and how people like Beck, O'Reilly, and their fans reacted. Rather predictable and boring.

Well, kids abused for religious or political propaganda always is disturbing. Even if they get absued in the name of christian sectarianism or conservative politics.

I wonder why we haven't complained about that earlier!? :-?

Lyrics
========
Song 1:
Mm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said that all must lend a hand
To make this country strong again
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said we must be fair today
Equal work means equal pay
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said that we must take a stand
To make sure everyone gets a chance
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said red, yellow, black or white
All are equal in his sight
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

Yes!
Mmm, mmm, mm
Barack Hussein Obama

Song 2:
Hello, Mr. President we honor you today!
For all your great accomplishments, we all doth say "hooray!"

Hooray, Mr. President! You're number one!
The first black American to lead this great nation!

Hooray, Mr. President we honor your great plans
To make this country's economy number one again!

Hooray Mr. President, we're really proud of you!
And we stand for all Americans under the great Red, White, and Blue!

So continue ---- Mr. President we know you'll do the trick
So here's a hearty hip-hooray ----

Hip, hip hooray!
Hip, hip hooray!
Hip, hip hooray!

Now I have never in all my years of schooling sung about a specific president or glorified any politician in office this way and clearly this is all teacher motivated.

We have. Literally thousands of legal suits, complaints, and censures have been filed over the years to prevent schoolchildren from being forced, encouraged, or even exposed to things like the pledge of allegiance, Christmas, prayer, and even some conservative philosophical views.
And they worked, for the most part.
I don't really have a problem with it, other than that the state runs the schools to begin with.

What's funny isn't how much conservatives whine about this sort of thing, it's how often they are ignored. Certainly, we have our share of ridiculous claims and silly concerns, just as the left does, but the state and the media generally ignore us no matter what we're going on about.

It may not seem like this little song is a big deal to some, and perhaps it isn't, but it certainly shouldn't be ignored. What we have here is a group of schoolchildren singing the praises of a politician who is currently in office. It is compulsory national state-funded glorification of the national state, and that is not acceptable in a nation like the US. I don't even like the idea of children being taught to praise or honor past presidents in state schools. It causes them to equate the federal state with goodness, and this country was founded upon the very principle that the federal state was bad thing. Even worse, they are singing the praises of a president who is, by his own admission, a statist, who represents a statist party, that pursues a statist agenda. Conservatives aren't necessarily upset over just this song, a lot of us are upset about the fact that the state runs the schools, and this is an indicator of state abuse of that power.

wow...

Something a former public education system teacher said to me recently ringing true.

Public schooling is no longer education, it is however, indoctrination.

he was forbidden in his school in australia by the state education system (same party as federal) from encouraging the kids to question the media and policy (year 8, 13-14 year olds) and was subsequently fired when he refused.

What is seen in tis clip has nothing to do with education, and everything to do with indoctrination. Song 2 for example. What has been accomplished for which thou doth say hooray?? besides plunging the US into unheard-of levels of debt, that is...

Blacklight 09-25-09 07:46 PM

This is nothing to get worked up over. Kids will praise whoever the president is. They did the same thing for George W. , Bill Clinton, George Senior, etc...

SteamWake 09-25-09 07:47 PM

For those that dont know.

Song number two is sung to the tune of the "The Battle Hymn of the Republic"

Changing the lyrics of the "Battle Hymn of the Republic" is most troubling here. I am sick of liberals working in education. Many simply are not there to properly educate students in the core subjects. Many are there to simply politically indoctrinate, as this is just one of many instances of liberals bastardizing the education environment. And I'm sick of them for it. What we truly need is a separation of liberals and state. Or at the very least, in the interim, a separation of liberal "teachers" and classrooms.
